Ok, I think this can be an interesting way to stir our alchemist minds a bit apart from the game itself and give some life to the forum. Here are the rules of the game:
1. Creativity is the name of the game ![]()
2. An alchemist (the experiment leader) posts an experiment - this means he explains in detail what the result should be. It may be anything from a potion to cure baldness to the perfect recipe for transmuting say gold into water (or the other way around). The alchemist states what he thinks is the difficulty of the task (from 1 to 10) - 1 for the baldness potion, 10 for the gold transmutation.
3. For each level of difficulty the game needs to pass a round of transmutation, creating a new element that will be used in the next round.
4. Other alchemists can post ONE ingredient they think should be used for the current round. Proposing an ingredient can be just saying "I think we should put a spoon of earth in it." or can explain how the alchemist creates the ingredient in his lab and then brings it to the leader for the experiment. When 5 different proposals are up the Experiment Leader can use them (some or all of them) and states the result of the round - what came out of the cauldron after adding the chosen ingredients. He evaluates the result (this is his role, playing the story teller and describing the work he does in the laboratory).
5. After the final round the resulting potion is given out to 5 alchemists picked by the Leader to test it. They post their results (their role-playing opportunity, describing their labs and so on) and according to them the experiment is considered a success or not.
6. Every alchemist can have one experiment thread running in the forum.
We can give some rewards to the ones with most successful experiments, or something like that. All of it is purely roleplaying and imagination, to make the forum a fun place to be and give people a chance to live in the role of an alchemist and show off with their skills/labs/expensive equipment/whatever. Tell me what you think, whether you would take part and everything else you want to say about the idea
I will happily answer all questions.
